First Data to adopt latest nexo standards specifications

November 28, 2018

Nexo standards, an association dedicated to delivering fast, interoperable and borderless card payment acceptance, has announced that First Data will integrate the latest nexo messaging protocols and specifications into its payment platform.

First Data, a nexo standards member since 2013, will adopt the NIS v.4.0 Specification Guidelines for the development of point-of-interaction applications, host systems and terminal management systems, according to a press release.

Nexo standards messaging specifications and protocols adhere to ISO 20022 standards, which are universally applicable and freely available. First Data will use nexo FAST, nexo Retailer, nexo Acquirer and nexo TMS Specifications, the release said.

“Nexo standards specifications … simplify the process for our clients working to expand their businesses into new regions,” said Michael Neborak, First Data executive vice president and head of the EMEA region. “This cross-border payment systems compatibility will help global businesses manage all of their POS and e-commerce transactions from one central payment acceptance platform, regardless of the country they operate in.”

First Data eventually will integrate the latest nexo specifications on its Clover platform for small and institutional businesses, the release said.
