First Data, Associated Bank renew debit, Star Network relationship

Payment processor First Data Corp. recently announced an agreement renewing its relationship with Associated Bank, a $23 billion bank holding company based in Green Bay, Wis. Associated serves more than 150 communities in the Wisconsin, Illinois and Minnesota through approximately 240 banking locations.

Under terms of the agreement First Data will continue to provide Associated with debit card processing, ATM terminal driving, fraud and risk management solutions, card production services and Star Network membership. The EFT network serves more than 2 million retail and ATM locations, First Data said in a news release.

The relationship between Associated and First Data extends back 30 years and has served the FI well, said Val Glytas, director of retail payments at Associated Bank. "We're able to take advantage of the innovation and breadth of product solutions that First Data offers to provide meaningful financial services and products to our customers and enable profitable growth for Associated."

Terms of the agreement are confidential, FirstData said.
