First Data adds PCI point-to-point encryption validation for enterprise

First Data has added a new PCI P2PE validation to its portfolio — TransArmor P2PE using the On-Guard solution by Ingenico Group. 

The addition makes First Data the first processor to offer enterprise clients a single, multilayer solution with both point-to-point and end-to-end encryption, according to a press release.

As part of the validation process, First Data partnered with Sysnet Global Solutions to ensure that all facilities and processes meet PCI P2PE guidelines. 

According to the release, benefits to using TransArmor P2PE include:

• A multilayer approach to security including point-to-point encryption; encryption through entire lifecycle to First Data platform; and TransArmor tokenization when at rest.
• Ability to leverage existing certifications for lowest-cost path to P2PE.
• Tools to reduce compliance scope and overhead by 50 to 90 percent.

TransArmor P2PE using On-Guard is currently available on Ingenico Telium 2 smart terminals. First Data expects to add further encryption types and terminal vendors throughout 2019.
