The virtual currency Bitcoin, which has been fluctuating wildly in recent weeks and at the center of much speculation about whether it is a bubble headed for an impending burst, got just a little bit more grounded in the real world: Photos of a Bitcoin ATM have been published today by Finnish deployer Bittiraha.
The rather smallish unit is seen on a wall-mounted shelf in a record store, next to piles of T-shirts, within the Helsinki Railway Station. According to the blog post, 200,000 people make their way through the station daily.
