JACKSON, Miss. -- Financial Technologies has entered into a joint venture with U-Pak-It Stores and Progressive Bank. Under the agreement, ATMs may be deployed in up to 30 U-Pak-It locations; some will carry the Progressive Bank brand. The installation of 15 ATMs into U-Pak-It locations has already begun. U Pak-It, a division of Evans Oil Company, currently operates 30 locations in northern Louisiana. With the addition of the ATMs in U-Pak-It sites, Progressive will expand its ATM network from five to 17 locations. Transactions at these locations will be free of charge to Progressive customers. "We're excited about the opportunity this agreement provides us to dramatically increase our convenience to our customers," said George W. Cummings III, CEO of Winsboro/Monroe, La.-based Progressive Bank. "We pride ourselves on our ability to deliver the best in customer service and believe that providing ATMs where our customers need them is just one more example of this dedication." Financial Technologies manages 2,800 ATMs in the U.S. And Canada.
