Fifth Third to process transactions for Michigan firm

CINCINNATI - Fifth Third Bank Processing Solutionssigned a contract to provide a credit and debit/ATM card acceptance program to Michigan-based Allied Chambers Services Co.

According to the Business Courier, Allied Chambers has 35,000 chamber members in 17 chambers of commerce across Michigan. Fifth Third said the agreement will allow merchant services to be marketed by its processing unit to each chamber.

Fifth Third's card acceptance program includes payment acceptance, charge-back support, 24-hour customer service, reporting flexibility and discounted rates for chamber members.

Fifth Third's processing unit processes 8.2 billion ATM and point-of-sale transactions per year. Its parent, Cincinnati-based Fifth Third Bancorp, was the Tri-State's second-largest bank holding company in 2002 with $8.9 billion in local deposits.
