Fifth Third Bank manager explains $950,000 heist
March 14, 2010
Michigan's Mlive.com reportsthat the former Fifth Third Bank manager who over course of five years pocketed $950,000, on Friday told a judge how she got away with the embezzlement, which involved keeping funds that were meant for loads at the ATM.
Once a week, former customer-service manager Amanda Renee Burns told the judge she keyed in higher amounts of cash than she actually put in to the ATM.
Burns has returned about $65,000 of the stolen funds. Other money was spent on her children, including day care, and vehicles and gifts for family, attorney Frank Stanley told the judge.
