Feig debuts new retrofit contactless reader

Feig Electronics USA of Tucker, Ga., has announced the release of the company's second EMV contactless reader. The OBID myAXXESS addOn model is designed as a retrofit for existing payment terminals and can be used in any contactless payment application.

The two-piece design requires only the drilling of a small hole in the payment terminal to connect the internally mounted reader and the external reader antenna, plus four attachment holes for the unit.

The addOn complements the previously released FlatOne, whose patent pending design allows it to be flush-mounted to metal-skinned payment terminals and still achieve full EMVCo Level 1 performance targets for read distance. 

Both of the Feig readers have earned the highest rating for impact testing (robust to vandalism) and are suitable for indoor or outdoor use.
