EVRY software to drive 1k ATMs

October 31, 2012

Sweden's largest IAD, Kontanten, has chosen Norwegian IT firm EVRY to provide software for all of its ATMs in the Nordic countries — a total of nearly 1,000 machines.

EVRY will supply Micos MultiVendor software for Kontanten's ATMs in Sweden and Finland. The technology is already in use at the company's 300 ATMs in Norway, which were acquired last winter with the purchase of Point Norge.

Additionally, EVRY will provide network communications for all Kontanten ATMs in Finland. The contract between the companies runs for five years, and represents a total value of around 45 million krone ($7.8 million).

"This contract will give Kontanten unified software for all the countries in which it operates, paving the way for even greater economies of scale," said Wiljar Nesse, head of the financial services business area at EVRY. "This is also an important contract for EVRY, particularly since it gives entry to the Finnish market, which is a new market for EVRY in respect of banking and finance services."

"Kontanten already uses EVRY's Micos core system for processing ATM transactions, and it was a natural choice to implement MultiVendor for our ATMs," said Gunnar Jacobson, CEO of Kontanten. "We are confident that EVRY can keep pace with our rapid growth in the northern European market, and we look forward to continuing our good working relationship."
