Europeans don't want advanced ATM functions, survey reveals

Digital Media: Thirty-nine percent of all Europeans go to an ATM each week, making it the most frequently used banking channel. But European consumers have little interest in additional ATM functionality, according to a report from Forrester Research, which could foil the plans of many European banks.

European banks are thinking about increasing customer self-service by offering additional functionality, such as account transfers and bill payments. But Forrester warns that to reap the benefits of ATM replacement - like branch volume reductions, better customer experiences, and advertising revenues - banks must integrate their ATM networks into their overall multichannel strategies.
