E.Sun Bank shrinks teller lines with self-service bill pay kiosks

The Asian FI will launch NCR APTRA Connections to run multiple self-service touch points, delivering personalized ATM transactions and custom advertisements.

March 8, 2016

NCR Corp. has customized the first financial kiosk solution in Taiwan for E.Sun Bank. The E.Sun iPayment Kiosk provides bill payment, statement printing, and banknote exchange services, eliminates the need for customers to queue up at the teller window, a press release said.

E.Sun is using NCR APTRA Connections software on the kiosk and on a fleet of new NCR SelfServ ATMs. The software will allow the FI to provide personalized ATM transactions and customized ATM ads, according to the release.

To settle credit card bills on the new customized kiosks, customers enter their credit card or identity card number and then scan the barcode on the statement or pay by cash.

Alternatively, customers can settle bill payments at the kiosk directly to merchants' virtual accounts using a preselected debit account or cash.

Customers may also make account balance and reward points enquiries, print credit card statements and obtain other application forms at the kiosk, the release said.

"In today's competitive banking environment, a bank's winning strategy includes transforming the customer experience and improving operations to create brand differentiation," said Keith Au, general manager for Hong Kong and Taiwan, Financial services at NCR. "NCR is excited in partnering with E.Sun Bank for the first time in entering this industry-leading project to transform the self-service banking landscape in Taiwan to a new level."

E.Sun will take iPayment Kiosks live in one or two selected branches during the first quarter of 2016. The bank plans to introduce more innovative marketing features in the near future, the release said.
