DUBLIN, Ireland -- Petrol provider Esso Ireland is in discussions with three Ireland ATM service providers about installing their machines in the company's store forecourts. According to Business & Finance, Esso wants to install the ATMs by August.
The magazine also reported that the Irish-owned operator, Easycash, established only nine months ago by former Esat leaders Mark Roden, T.J. Malone and Mark McCluskey, is one of the companies involved in the talks.
Online Ireland reported that the initiative is part of an expansion plan for the Dublin area, which will see 40 of its existing Esso operations modified for quick retail service and dubbed "On the Run."
The forecourt-based ATM industry is well established in Britain, where most facilities charge substantial transaction fees. However, Esso said it hopes it won't have to charge its Irish customers.
