Epson expands CaptureOne check-scanner line, offers highest MICR accuracy
April 28, 2009
ORLANDO, Fla. — Epson, during the NACHA Payments Conference, released the 90 DPM version of its CaptureOne desktop check scanner.
According to a news release, the new 90 DPM model adds to Epson's existing 30 and 60 DPM CaptureOne scanner models. With features including a fast 90 DPM scan rate, the highest MICR accuracy in its class and high-quality imager, the new version of CaptureOne is designed for branch back-counter check processing, commercial accounts windows and high-volume remote deposit capture applications, where speed, accuracy and maximum throughput are essential.
All three models are designed to minimize MICR misreads and non-conforming images, therefore, Epson says, eliminating the manual intervention required to reprocess misread checks.
Unreadable items effectively lower average check processing speeds and throughput.
"Too many misreads and you're losing productivity," said Bud Weist, vice president of sales and marketing for the Epson System Device Group. "We've designed the CaptureOne product to deliver not only check processing speed, but high MICR accuracy and high overall throughput."
