EMVCo qualifies Fime test tool for contactless EMV terminals

Fime has announced that its EMV RF contactless solution has become the only EMVCo-qualified test tool available to perform Level 1 PCD analogue testing on contactless terminals and mobile point-of-sale devices.

According to a press release, the tool validates communications between the terminal and a contactless card or NFC-enabled smartphone in line with the EMV Contactless Specifications version 2.5.

Fime EMV RF Test Bench, incorporating Keysight technology, can be used by manufacturers throughout the development cycle to perform pre-certification testing, which can save time and money by mitigating the risk of failure in the final certification stage.

The test tool uses an automatic positioning robot to further reduce the time requirements of certification projects, the release said.
