The EMVCo Secretariat this week announced the launch of its new logo and branding.
The updated graphics introduce a 21st century look and feel into materials and communications (including a spiffed-up website) supporting the 20-year-old technology.
According to an announcement letter from the secretariat:
These changes are as a result of the evolution of EMV: At EMVCo's inception, "EMV" became synonymous with "contact chip," but over the years it has grown to mean much more.

The new EMVCo logo still centers on the term "EMV" to reflect the importance of the organization's specifications and testing activities. ....
The globe icon visually reinforces the international role that EMVCo has on payments. The green lines demonstrate the flow of payment transactions. The blue lines signify how the EMV specifications support the community with underlying security and functionality to deliver worldwide interoperability of existing and emerging payment technologies.
