Emirates NBD rolls out 'Bank on Wheels'

May 24, 2013

Emirates NBD has announced the debut of its "Bank on Wheels," a secure, fully equipped Emirates NBD vehicle which will be parked at various customer touch points in Dubai. The FI is using the service to help it determine its growth strategy for physical branches, according to a news release.

The Emirates Bank on Wheels also will be used to provide banking services on site at major events. The new service will come as an addition to the fleet of mobile ATMs launched in 2004.

The mobile branch will feature a CDM and a dedicated service representative. Soon it will also house an NCR APTRA Interactive Teller Machine, offering customers an extended automated branch experience within the Bank on Wheels service the FI said.

"With one of the largest networks of physical branches, ATMs, CDMs and our state-of-the-art Internet and mobile banking platforms, Emirates NBD offers customers convenient and speedy access to banking services across the UAE," said Suvo Sarkar, general manager of retail banking at Emirates. The 'Bank on Wheels' initiative will enable us to assess our growth strategy and evaluate the need for setting up physical branches, in busy districts that are home to large customer groups."

The Emirates NBD Bank on Wheels will be parked in newly developed areas where customers do not have access to physical Emirates NBD branches or ATMs. It will also be used adjacent to branches as needed to handle excess customer traffic.
