ECS brings its 'payment in a box' to North America

ElectraCard Services, a provider of electronic payments solutions, announced the availability of its prepackaged high-performance payment switch. The new solution meets the needs of financial institutions, local ISOs, retailers and merchant processors, the company said, letting them quickly adapt to innovation in their markets.

With its new "Payment in a Box," ECS bundles HP Integrity NonStop servers and electraSWITCH iTx series to deliver high reliability, extreme scalability and superior price performance, the company said.

The integrated solution is based on the HP's newly-introduced Integrity NonStop NS2100 server, meaning customers who require a mission-critical application environment can extend the reliability of NonStop fundamentals at a lower price point. Included with the bundle are support, installation and training services.

The electra iTx series platform is built from the ground-up on open standards and industry best-practices to support the service oriented architectures that are becoming the technology backbone of today's leading organizations, the company said.

ECS also announced expanded functionality of its iTx series platform with a business rules engine and workflow manager called electraRULES Business Manager. The electraRULES tool eliminates customization and shortens the time to launch new services, ECS said. Using a model-driven development environment, electraRULES enforces granularity and reuse of business assets unseen in other approaches, allowing for seamless composition and decomposition of processes and business services.

Additonally, ECS said the Java engine that forms the core of electraRULES supports massive degrees of scale and parallelism and allows customers to extend and customize the platform to fit their needs. It also comes with a configurable message transformation engine called electraMAP that maps message formats and protocols to integrate with external systems using online messages, offline extracts and SOA services.
