Dolphin Debit takes on ATM fleet management for Mississippi CU

The deal will save the cost of buying, depreciating and managing new machines, says the 4,200-member FCU's president.

March 25, 2015

Mississippi Postal Federal Credit Union, a 4,200-member, $61 million FI based in Jackson, Mississippi, has outsourced its fleet of ATMs to Dolphin Debit.

According to a press release, the decision to turn over ATM management was prompted by concerns over costs related to maintenance and compliance for the FCU's two 10-year-old units.

"The machines barely made the upgrade for ADA — that was a huge expense," said Katie Nelson, CEO and manager of Mississippi Postal. "They really wouldn't have been able to handle any additional upgrades. So with EMV coming, I knew we were going to have to have new machines."

The FCU's agreement with Dolphin includes all upgrades and ensures ongoing compliance for the FI's machines. Additionally, the deal provides Mississippi Postal members with access to ATMs in the CU24 network, as well those operated by Dolphin Debit, the release said.

Nelson said that Dolphin’s turnkey solution has saved the FCU the cost of buying, depreciating and managing new machines.

"We also have less staff time involved with the ATMs, and we don't have to pay for upgrades anymore. That's Dolphin's responsibility," she said.
