Display Concepts redesigns sunlight-viewable ATM display for NCR, Diebold, Fujitsu, Wincor ATMs

July 6, 2009

PHELPS, N.Y. — Display Concepts has redesigned its 8.4-inch sunlight-viewable LCD for ATMs to improve readability, reduce power consumption, increase LCD lifetime and reduce costs.   According to a news release, the model V084H1 high-brightness ATM monitor provides bright, full-color images that are viewable in direct sunlight. The improved design offers increased contrast for better readability and introduces support for the built-in automatic dimmer found in Diebold Inc. ATMs, automatically adjusting brightness in response to ambient lighting conditions.

The model V084H1 is a redesign of the SunView ATM monitor line that Display Concepts acquired from Palomar Displays in 2007. A key upgrade included the replacement of the original fluorescent backlight with a new, more efficient LED backlight and ballast.

"Our engineering team has not only improved performance of the original SunView design, but has also created a product that is more environmentally friendly, due to its lower power use and longer life," said Robert Rippberger of Display Concepts. "Field service personnel will also appreciate the lighter weight of the new LCD."

The V084H1 is compatible with the original Palomar SunView design and all bracket kits. It is a drop-in replacement for 10-inch CRTs and older 8.4-inch LCDs in NCR Corp., Diebold, Fujitsu and Wincor Nixdorf ATMs.
