Discover mobile app adds iPhone X facial login

Discover card members and Discover Bank customers who own an iPhone X can take advantage of the smartphone's Face ID functionality to sign in to the Discover Mobile app.

The feature provides an intuitive and secure mobile login experience that requires no more than a glance from the user, according to a press release.

"The ease and security Face ID offers to our app users is an extension of our overall commitment to providing the best possible customer experience, whether that's through our mobile app, by phone or on the web," Discover VP of e-business Szabolcs Paldy said in the release.

Face ID other mobile enhancements from Discover that include in-app wire transfers a Cashback Bonus via Apple Pay, which lets card members redeem Cashback Bonus rewards for a statement credit through Apple Pay. Discover was the first major credit card issuer to offer the ability to redeem rewards after a purchase through Apple Pay, the release said.
