Discover, First Data partner

DENVER - First Data Corp. has signed an agreement with Discover Financial Services LLC to offer Discover Network card acceptance to small- and mid-sized merchants, the company announced in a news release. Specific terms and conditions of the contract have not been released.

Under the agreement, First Data will provide processing services to merchants for the Discover Network card to promote a broad range of payment options at the point of sale.

Merchants are expected to have access to the Discover Network card acceptance as early as this summer, when First Data will begin pilot programs in selected geographic areas. First Data expects to offer the solution on a wider scale during the fourth quarter of this year.
