Diebold Inc. yesterday announced that it had signed a contract with Banco Santander to replace more than 670 ATMs for the Madrid, Spain-based bank.
The ATM deployments are part of a modernization process that Banco Santander is undertaking with its ATM network. Diebold will deploy the Opteva 760, 720, 562 and 522 models.
The 522 is an exterior cash dispenser. The 562 is a through-the-wall, walk up cash dispenser. The 720 is an advanced-function lobby ATM, and the 760 is an advanced-function through-the-wall, walk-up ATM.
All of the ATMs will run on Diebold’s Agilis software.
Diebold, which is based in North Canton, Ohio, and Banco Santander also are working together in Mexico, Brazil and the United States. “This most-recent agreement helps further the position of Diebold as a key partner for Banco Santander in enhancing its ATM channel, not only in Spain, but around the world,” Diebold officials said in a statement.
Diebold is the world’s third-largest ATM manufacturer based on annual shipments.
