NORTH CANTON, Ohio – Wright Patterson Air Force Base pharmacy customers are getting an air lift: drive-through, pneumatic kiosks to deliver their prescriptions.
The new Diebold Inc. (NYSE: DBD) product, called a Drive-Thru Kiosk, is designed specifically for mass merchandisers and grocery stores with pharmacy operations. Diebold is a leading kiosk and ATM manufacturer.
Diebold's Drive-Thru Kiosk, which comes in a variety of models, provides drive-up access in a typical pharmacy location, such as under an existing canopy next to a building or in an out-of-the-way area where no canopy is present, such as an open parking lot.
The pneumatic tube system provides a smooth, cushioned arrival of the carriers, protecting the contents delivered to customers. A two-way closed-circuit television allows face-to-face communication between the technician or pharmacist and the customer.
Diebold manufactures several models of its Drive-Thru Kiosk:
