WINDSOR, England -- Diebold International Ltd., a wholly-owned, UK-based subsidiary of North Canton, Ohio-based ATM manufacturer Diebold, has formed a five-year, strategic marketing agreement with Transoft International, a provider of currency optimization solutions for financial institutions.
Through the agreement, Diebold will offer OptiCa$h, Transoft's cash-management and cost-optimization software, to financial institutions in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Customers can choose to have Diebold Managed Services implement and maintain OptiCa$h as an outsourced or managed service, or Diebold can implement OptiCa$h and leave the daily operations to the customer.
According to a news release, OptiCa$h anticipates the needs of each cash delivery point in the branch and ATM network, then finds the lowest possible cost to service the demand accordingly. It continually refines its recommendations based on an analysis of all relevant costs and factors.
In addition, Diebold is offering Transoft's OptiNet and OptiVault to financial institutions using OptiCa$h. OptiNet is an intranet HTML delivery application that gives remote branch users the capability to review, override and commit recommended orders and returns, as well as create emergency orders and/or returns though OptiCa$h. OptiVault is a Web-based vault consolidation application designed to optimize currency/coin ordering and clearing for bank money rooms and/or carrier vaults.
"Cash management accounts for about 40 percent of the cost of running an ATM," said Barry Harrison, Diebold's vice president of customer services for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. "Customers using OptiCa$h can reduce cash levels by 10 to 50 percent, with typical cost savings of about $2,000 per ATM per year and more than double that amount for each branch."
Harris added that With Diebold's Services solution, there is no up-front capital expenditure; rather the customer pays for the system through the savings made by implementing it.
According to the release, privately-held Transoft, which is based in Cary, N.C., manages cash for nearly 100,000 ATMs and bank branches with customers across six continents.
As a global technology leader and innovative services provider, Diebold Nixdorf delivers the solutions that enable financial institutions to improve efficiencies, protect assets and better serve consumers.
