NORTH CANTON, Ohio - In connection with the acquisition of certain assets from Olivetti Peru, Diebold has established a direct, in-country presence to provide retail ATM sales and service operations in Peru.
Diebold will now have a sales, administration and service headquarters, along with a separate warehousing facility, based in Peru's capital of Lima.
"Forming a direct operation on the ground in Peru allows us the opportunity to establish a strong market presence there," said Michael J. Hillock, president of International operations for Diebold, in a news release. "This supports our strategic objective to develop the Diebold brand globally and provide customers with a direct presence in key global markets."
Ernesto Unanue, Diebold's vice president and managing director for Latin America, said the move will help Diebold build a strong self-service presence in Peru, as well as develop new businesses, such as outsourcing and security.
"This is an exciting opportunity for Diebold to expand into a new, practically untapped market," Unanue said.
As a global technology leader and innovative services provider, Diebold Nixdorf delivers the solutions that enable financial institutions to improve efficiencies, protect assets and better serve consumers.
