ZDNet:Malware affecting Windows-based Diebold Inc. ATMs that is capable of intercepting card details and their associated PINs was discovered this week by Sophos. The malware is exclusively coded to target Russian, Ukrainian and American currency transactions. According to bloggers, Diebold in January confirmed some of its ATMs had been hacked with Trojan software in Russia. What's particularly interesting about the ATM-based malware is that it requires insider access to the machine, compared to the mainstream external attack in the form of an ATM skimming device.
