NORTH CANTON, Ohio - Diebold, Incorporated (NYSE: DBD) has acquired Licent Information Technology (LIT), its sales and service distributor in Taiwan since 1999.
"For the past four years, LIT has successfully provided strong sales and service efforts for Diebold throughout Taiwan," said Michael Hillock, Diebold's president of International Operations, in a news release. "The strategic move to acquire LIT fits our initiative to expand Diebold's brand name and offer direct global presence in key markets."
Martin Huang, Licent's president and managing director, will join Diebold as the managing director for Taiwan, responsible for the combined Taiwan operations.
With headquarters in Taipei, Diebold's Taiwan operations will include more than 60 professionals, 24-hour service centers in Taipei, Taichung and Tainan, and a depot repair center in Taichung.
