Desert Schools Federal Credit Union recently teamed withDiebold Inc.to implement its branch transformation strategy in a new branch in Gilbert, Arizona, according to a press release.

Arizona's largest locally based credit union, Desert Schools FCU holds assets of more than $3.7 billion and serves more than 300,000 members.

The Diebold Advisory Services group worked with the FCU to modify processes, customize staff training, and implement branch automation technology, the release said.

"Our team was able to help Desert Schools navigate through its people, process and technology strategies to make its new branch more efficient and member-focused," said Raja Bose, Diebold VP of branch transformation and advisory services.

The FCU's new branch will house Diebold 9900 assisted self-service in-lobby tellers, a branch automation platform that company said was designed to deliver a fast and reliable in-branch experience by migrating transactions to the self-service channel.

This technology allows members to perform more complex transactions with the assistance of a teller and routine transactions at the self-service channel, according to the Desert Schools SVP of retail sales Lori Sevensky.

"Diebold's expert Advisory Services team was able to help us provide our membership with alternatives to perform their transactions," she said. "With self- and assisted-service options, our members are now able to perform their transactions in the method that is most preferred by them."
