January 22, 2019

India's Delhi Metro Rail Corp. has announced that by the end of 2019, it intends to ensure that every station in its network will have at least one ATM.

According to a report by Times of India, 175 of the DMRC's 236 stations already have ATMs. By the time the remaining 61 stations also have cash machines, it is expected that the DMRC ATM network will comprise more than 500 machines in all.

A DMRC spokesperson told the publication that it has called for commercial banks and nonbank ATM deployers to indicate their interest in leasing space allotted for an additional 293 ATMs throughout its commuter network.
