Crimestoppers, Link re-up for ninth year

November 22, 2016

Crimestoppers, a group that seeks to stop ATM attacks, and Link, the U.K. ATM network, have renewed their partnership for a ninth straight year, the organizations announced in a press release.

Collaboration between Link and Crimestoppers has produced numerous campaigns focused on helping to protect the public from crimes such as skimming by raising consumer awareness of the threat.

The two organizations fund rewards of up to 25,000 pounds ($31,045) for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of an individual responsible for card fraud or an attack on an ATM. Information can be submitted anonymously through the Crimestoppers call line at 0 800 555 111.

"We are delighted to continue our relationship with Crimestoppers in order to help combat cash machine crime in the U.K." Link CEO John Howells said in the release. "ATM crime is an issue that Link takes very seriously and cracking down on it is a key objective for the industry. This partnership and the Link Reward Scheme is an important part of our ongoing commitment to keeping ATM users and their cash safe."
