NORTH CANTON, Ohio -- Diebold, Incorporated (NYSE: DBD) through its relationships with Mosaic Software and Thales e-Security, has successfully installed a Triple-DES solution at the Anheuser-Busch Employees' Credit Union (ABECU) as part of a system-wide upgrade.
According to a news release, the credit union is the first Diebold customer to achieve end-to-end, Triple-DES compliance in an ATM network.
Diebold has reseller agreements with Mosaic Software, for its Postilion transaction processing system, and with Thales e-Security, for its host security modules HSMs). The Diebold package, with Postilion, offers ATM hardware and software able to handle ATM driving, switching, network management, settlement and reconciliation.

By implementing Mosaic's Postilion and Thales' HSMs, ABECU's achieved Triple-DES compliance while expanding their ATM network functionality, according to the release.
Calvin Curdt, ABECU's vice president of Information Systems, said in the release that the network upgrade offered not only end-to-end Triple-DES compliance but also "improved reporting, increased functionality and enhanced uptime."
John H. Tyler, Diebold's vice president of Software and Services, said in the release, "When financial institutions make other improvements to their networks, they should also take
the opportunity to implement this new, higher security encryption standard."
