DUBLIN, Ireland -CR2, a global provider of channel and Internet banking, ATM and card-payment software solutions, announced the successful launch of Botswana Building Society's ATM channel with CR2's BankWorld and CardWorld software solutions, according to a news release.
In just more than two months, the bank installed and implemented nine ATMs located in Gabarone, Francistown and Lobatse, all of which are major urban centres. BBS is using CR2's BankWorld ATM Controller, Client, Channel Manager and CardWorld Producer solutions.
Botswana Building Society, formed in December 1976 and the largest property bank in Botswana, provides mortgage loans on residential properties, investment/development loans and commercial and industrial property loans.
"One of the great benefits of this solution is that we can monitor the status of each ATM remotely," said Father Maphongo, BBS's head of risk and strategy, in the release. "We are alerted immediately (when) an ATM hardware or network fault occurs and so can decide the best course of action to ensure it is back up and running as quickly as possible."
"The distances between these ATMs can be over 500 kilometers," said Kieran Kilcullen, director of sales and marketing for CR2. "It is imperative that faults can be diagnosed remotely, to validate the necessity of an engineer's visit."
