CR2 BankWorld to manage ATM, mobile channels for Botswana Savings Bank

Following a merger with Botswana Post, BSB plans to implement BankWorld ATM and Mobile banking solutions across the expanded system.

Following the merger of Botswana Savings Bankwith Botswana Post, BSB has teamed up with CR2 to implement that company's BankWorld ATM and Mobile banking solutions across the FI's newly expanded system.

BSB expects that BankWorld will allow it to provide innovative self-service products for its customers and reach new target segments, helping the FI to reduce operational challenges and deliver advanced revenue generating services, according to a CR2 press release.

As the bank re-focuses both its customer strategy and its product mix in line with its transformation strategy, it also expects to benefit from scalable cross-channel capability offered by BankWorld.

For now, BankWorld functionalities will be available on the ATM channel and via SMS, the release said. The bank will also issue VISA cards using the CR2 CardWorld Producer module.

Testing of new features is being undertaken on the current BSB network. Projected roll out of ATM services, including cardless access and SMS capabilities in addition to VISA card issuing and acquiring, is estimated for March 2015.
