Companies form cash automation alliance

April 29, 2003

DALLAS -- Carreker Corporation (Nasdaq:CANIE), a provider of cash supply software to financial institutions and service providers, has formed a strategic alliance with Giesecke & Devrient GmbH (G&D), a Munich-based supplier of banknote processing systems.

According to a news release, the companies say the alliance will strengthen their market positions and product offerings in cash automation and inventory management.

As part of the agreement, Carreker and G&D are consolidating their overlapping cash supply chain solutions. For vault operations, G&D's Compass will be the companies' preferred solution. For cash inventory management, Carreker's iCom will be the preferred solution.

Both companies will also offer Carreker's Cash Supply Chain Consulting Services and eiManager software, which is designed to improve ATM management efficiency and availability.

Similarly, they will offer G&D's currency-processing hardware, which provides automation and efficiencies in centralized cash operations.

The companies also plan to collaborate on research and development, and other opportunities in shared services in the cash supply chain.
