Collis, Aspects test tools to take on UL branding

The products themselves will remain the same; foreseeable aesthetic changes will include packaging, GUIs, user manuals and promotional material, UL said.

May 27, 2015

Late last week, UL announced its intention to rebrand Collis and Aspect products to carry the UL brand. This is the final step for the company's transaction security division to become fully UL-branded, according to a news release.

The current Collis and Aspects brands stem from former company names, UL said. Aspects Co., a developer of mobile test tools, was acquired by Collis Co. in 2006. In turn, Collis, a provider of test tools for payment, transit and government markets, was acquired by UL in 2012.

The rebranding takes effect immediately, and will in no way affect the performance of the products themselves. Foreseeable aesthetic changes will include packaging, GUIs, user manuals and promotional material, UL said.

"Whilst we are proud of the 'Collis' and 'Aspects' brand names, which stand for quality and trust, we are happy to announce we are replacing the names with UL," said Maxim Dyachenko, service line manager test tools in the UL Transaction Security division. "It is a logical step as we are part of UL. UL is a global, trusted brand and we are proud that our test tools will now bear this name as well."
