Citywide ATM, a nationwide seller, distributor and processor of ATMs, has announced the introduction of a new custom enclosure for its ATM PitBull alarm system. The protective cladding was designed and produced with help from Buckeye Shapeform, a provider of off-the-shelf and custom instrumentation enclosures.
The ATM PitBull alarm system has multiple points of detection and is fitted with electronics — including GPS live tracking — that can be controlled with an external keypad.
The system is best suited to a vertical orientation, which takes up minimal shelf space. Also, the internal components require slightly more length than found in commonly available standard-size enclosures.
In its search for a modified enclosure, Citywide ATM found that many manufacturers could not accommodate the project engineering constraints, while others couldn't meet the company's cost requirements.
"Too many compromises were necessary to use any other enclosure that we researched," Citywide ATM engineering manager Bruce Laurian said.
Buckeye Shapeform E-Series (build-a-box) extruded aluminum enclosures provided the required flexibility to meet the Citywide's exact specifications to create a customized enclosure and chassis that met the project's exact specifications — and did so affordably.
The Buckeye enclosures provide easy access to the internal electronics of the ATM PitBull alarm system and allow easy post-installation access. Custom-designed horizontal slots allow the chassis to be slid in and out like a drawer for convenient assembly, future servicing or upgrading.
For protection against intrusion, the system is protected by front and rear cover panels and limited internal access to end users by the use of front and rear cover panels. To finish the ATM PitBull alarm system, Buckeye Shapeform screen printed each enclosure with the company's pit bull logo.
"After receiving the production prototype ... I realized we made the right decision in going with Buckeye Shapeform. Every aspect of the resulting equipment was either as expected or better," Laurian said. "It was a truly professional job at a cost much less than expected."
