Citi's U.S. Retail Bank has introduced Relationship Tiers for simplified banking. With Relationship Tiers, customers can access a variety of services such as waived monthly service fees and waived fees at non-Citi ATMs, financial planning, Citi Priority, Citigold, Citigold Private Clienta and more, according to a press release.

As the customer's combined average monthly balance grows, they can unlock more Relationship Tiers, similar to a hotel or airline rewards program.

The bank is also offering Family Linking for family financial management, which will also automatically unlock higher Relationship Tiers. In addition, the bank is working at eliminating fees by allowing customers to avoid monthly service fees by making enhanced direct deposits of $250 a month, which can also include deposits via Zelle and peer-to-peer payments.

"Customers are at the heart of everything we do, and we are excited to offer even more enhanced offerings with convenient benefits and services that grow with customers as they move through life's stages," Craig Vallorano, head of retail banking at Citi, said in the release. "These latest changes are designed to create a more seamless experience for our customers and make it easier for them to get personalized advice and access their finances."
