CIMA introduces its AST9000 Teller Cash Recycler

Cash Handling America has launched a high-capacity teller cash recycler, the AST9000, for the banking industry.

The AST9000 accepts, authenticates, stores and dispenses banknotes through a high-capacity input/output/reject slot, according to a company release.

The unit recycles cash via five cassettes and can recycle through a single or dual domination recycling cassette.

Banknote detection is done by a validator that can detect the authenticity of a bill and a conduct banknote fitness sorter. Both processes comply with the regulations of major global central banks.

The unit has increased capacity and is housed in a compact design that works with both an open layout bank branch or a behind-the-teller format.

"With the introduction of the AST9000, we can now offer a full range of solutions for any volume of cash handling," Vik Devjee, vice president of CIMA Cash Handling America, Inc said in the release. "The AST9000 was primarily developed for the retail banking market. However, it is also a perfect fit for high-volume enterprises in retail or hospitality," Devjee said.
