CI Tech launches new banknote processing line

A key component of the CI Note Line modular product family is a recycling device for automated banknote processing.

January 2, 2015

CI Tech Components AG, a manufacturer of sensors and modules for banknote processing, recently announced the launch of its CI Note Line product family. CI Tech was founded in 2011 as a joint venture between Giesecke & Devrient and Wincor Nixdorf AG.

The key component of the new modular product family is a recycling device for automated banknote processing, a press release from the company said.

The line addresses the different needs of integrators and their clients, who are able to configure their systems individually. With cash recycling technology, paid-in banknotes can be dispensed again after authentication, substantially reducing manual cash processing, the company said.

For example, it is possible to either configure devices with up to three recycling modules (six denominations) or three dispense cassettes. The system uses automatic data transfer to connect to the back office cash management system.

Since operating companies in different market segments have entirely different needs, a variety of solutions are required, said Norbert Hennen, product manager at CI Tech.

"Our aim is to serve these specific market segments with a configurable product family. Thanks to our modular concept, we are able to achieve a variety of different cassette, dispensing and recycling capacities which can be used for securely automated transactions in a way that best suits the application."

The solution also features a Web-based platform that allows users to download the latest currency templates on demand, the release said.
