Chinese bank orders Wincor Nixdorf ATMs

July 12, 2004

PEKING, China - Agriculture Bank of China, one of the four largest state-owned commercial banks in China, has awarded Wincor Nixdorf an order for up to 500 ATMs.

Two hundred Wincor Nixdorf ATMs will be installed this summer at some of the bank's 37 branches and 310 self-service centers. An additional 300 machines are to be ordered by the end of September, according to a news release.

The machines will be customized for use by ABC customers and will be modified to include extra services as required.

"The larger stock of ATMs means ABC Bank is able to offer its customers more convenience," said Cao GuYa, IT general manager of ABC Bank. "These modern ATMs mean ABC Bank is able to provide its range of self-service financial services even faster and closer to the customer."

At the end of 2003, ABC Bank had installed 9,217 ATMs and 53,119 point-of-sale terminals, according to the release.
