Charlotte, North Carolina airport re-ups ATM contract with hometown bank

Dec. 27, 2016

Charlotte, North Carolina-based Bank of America has negotiated a renewal of its contract to serve as the sole ATM provider for the Charlotte Douglas International Airport.

According to a report by the Charlotte Observer, the deal approved by the city council, calls for the bank to pay a flat fee of $1.6 million for 14 ATM placements at the airport.

Additionally, the bank will pay the city 75 cents out of every transaction fee collected —the city expects these fees to total approximately $319,000.

Bank of America won the exclusive-provider contract in 2011; previously four banks had operated ATMs at the airport.
