Dear Friends,
As you are well aware, Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans and the southern parts of both Louisiana and Mississippi. Lives were lost. People lost their homes, their businesses, and their way of life. Life has changed forever on the Gulf Coast.
If you look back over the last 15 years, some big names in the EFT industry with much greater resources than CDS have suffered "disasters," but nothing like Katrina, and did not keep on processing like we did - not just for hours, but for days. I am proud of the staff at CDS and what we were able to accomplish. Even as my staff watched their personal lives being turned upside down back in New Orleans by Katrina, they kept on processing.
From a personal side, many of our staff may have lost or had damage to their homes and belongings, but none of our staff were hurt or injured. For that we are thankful.
From a business side, CDS's disaster plan worked. We kept processing your transactions. I have even had a few clients ask me, "When did you make the cut-over from New Orleans to Dallas?"
Going forward, Dallas will be the site of our data center. We have UPS (battery) back-up, generator back-up and redundant network and communications circuits here. We will shortly establish a new back-up site in the north Texas or Oklahoma area. Our plans had been to move the systems and IT group to Dallas in 2006. Katrina just changed the timeframe.
I want to thank you for your continued support and assistance since Katrina. I want to thank you for your acts of generosity toward my staff and for your words of encouragement.
Special thanks to ATMmarketplace, MetaBank, Mosaic Software, Pulse EFT, Star Systems, Stratus, TNS, Trusted Security, and all our clients.
Sincerely,
Ron Schuldt
President
