The Australian: The use of checks by travelers heading overseas is on the decline and a new product which operates like an international debit card could push it closer to its final demise.
Travelex managing director Australasia Martin Crawford said the passport is on the road to replacing travelers checks. "Travelers want convenience and security, which this (Cash Passport) offers," said Crawford.
The Travelex Cash Passport is a card that offers travelers access to local currency from any Visa-linked ATM while abroad.
