TCF Bank identified currency recycling as an emerging technology that could have a significant, positive impact on branch operations. Cash recyclers are designed to automate processes in bank branches in the following ways:

• Streamline cash handling
• Accept and dispense cash
• Secure cash during transactions
• Replace open cash drawers
• Automate vault transactions
• Reduce cash-on-hand inventory
• Detect counterfeits

The South University Branch was chosen for the first installations of Arca8000 currency recyclers. This branch is located in Ann Arbor, Mich. near the main campus of the University of Michigan. With a large customer base including local students and commercial clients, this branch performs a large number of cash transactions.
