Cardtronics to support Walgreens prepaid card at ATMs

Cardtronics Inc. has extended its ATM services agreement with Walgreens. Under the new terms, Cardtronics will support the Walgreens Balance Financial prepaid program in addition to serving as preferred ATM services provider for the pharmacy chain.

Balance Financial cardholders will be able to withdraw cash surcharge-free at ATMs located in Walgreens stores. Under the agreement, the chain joins numerous businesses and financial brands that use the Cardtronics Allpoint Network to provide fee-free cash to their customers.

The relationship between Walgreens and Cardtronics began in 2004. Over the past decade the IAD's presence in Walgreens stores has risen from fewer than 400 ATMs to roughly 3,250 today.
