Cardtronics signs ATM-branding agreement with a Florida credit union

February 28, 2011

VyStar, a Jacksonville, Fla.-based credit union, and Cardtronics Inc. yesterday announced an ATM-branding program, which will increase the credit union's ATM footprint.

The new agreement with VyStar calls for Cardtronics to deploy 10 ATMs throughout the Jacksonsville area, said Tom Pierce, Cardtronics chief marketing officer.

The VyStar-branded ATMs will provide fee-free ATM access to VyStar credit union members. The VyStar brand will be prominently placed on the ATMs and on the machines' transaction screens.

"The branding program from Cardtronics allows VyStar to tap into one of the nation's most-recognized retail brands, Walgreens, to provide enhanced service  to our current members and brand awareness for prospective members," said Judy Walz, VyStar senior vice president of marketing and strategic planning.

VyStar is Florida's second-largest credit union based on assets and the third-largest based on members. The credit union serves members living in 17 counties through 30 branches in northeast Florida.

Cardtronics, which is based in Houston, is the world's largest non-bank owner of ATMs, with 34,000 machines in the United States, United Kingdom, Mexico and the Caribbean.
