Cardtronics program incorporates ATM cash, coupons, mobile phones

The company's new AllTM program rewards ATM users by presenting them with a special coupon code they can upload to a mobile device and use immediately in-store.

Cardtronics Inc., has launched the AllTM Network, which combines cash with digital rewards, including deals and discounts available immediately at stores hosting an AllTM.

In a news release, Cardtronics described the elements of the program:

Consumers use an AllTM Network ATM to withdraw cash as usual, however, this ATM has a high-definition monitor on top that displays in-store discounts and incentives (as well as local weather and other information).

AllTM also features a smartphone app that consumers can use to take advantage of these offers, which are made available through the AllTM. The app, which is available for Android and iOS devices, can also be used to find participating locations and retailers.

Using the app, consumers scan a QR code printed on their AllTM receipt to unlock deals and discounts that are available to them immediately in-store. Consumers simply present their mobile coupons for scanning and redemption at the POS.

Cardtronics currently is testing promotional content and offers through an AllTM pilot at 17 Fresh & Easy food market locations in Phoenix. A wider rollout of AllTM Network machines is planned for 2015.

Cardtronics CMO Tom Pierce underscored the benefits to both consumer and retailer:

Consumers still get quick and easy access to their cash, but now we're helping them make the most of that cash by adding exclusive in-store discounts and money-saving offers they can access through their mobile device. At the same time, the AllTM has the potential to deliver more foot traffic to retailers and help them drive expanded point-of-sale spend by extending offers to those customers seeking cash access at an ATM in their locations.
