Cardtronics, CO-OP Financial Services renew contract for 5,500 7-Eleven ATMs

November 15, 2009

Cardtronics Inc. and CO-OP Financial Services have announced a contract renewal that will keep 7-Eleven's Cardtronics ATMs on CO-OP Network for at least five more years. According to Cardtronics, CO-OP Network has been available on 7-Eleven's ATMs since 2005.

Stan Hollen, president and CEO of CO-OP Financial Services, says the deal will facilitate the continued growth of credit unions and their membership bases:
The key to credit union membership growth is making access to accounts easy and convenient. 7-Eleven is a large chain store, so having CO-OP Network in these locations is a great benefit that our credit unions can offer to their members and an important competitive edge among financial institutions.
According to Cardtronics, CO-OP Network offers surcharge-free access to checking and savings accounts for credit union members on 28,000 ATMs throughout the U.S. In addition to the 5,500 Cardtronics ATMs in 7-Eleven stores, the contract renewal between Cardtronics and CO-OP Financial Services covers more than 300 ATMs in Costco locations and nearly 700 in Walgreen's drug stores.
