Cardtronics Inc. has announced plans to reorganize the business structure around its merchant-owned and distributor customer base in the U.S. The changes are intended to focus resources closer to customers in the different markets the company serves, according to a press release.

Cardtronics has named Ric Davis to oversee the company's independent business group, replacing Jeremy Inman, who now leads the Cardtronics Canada business unit. Davis was most recently Cardtronics' executive vice president of global procurement and processes.

The independent business group will be divided into two separately branded organizations:

Kahuna ATM Solutions —This group, which serves distributors, will be managed by Bryan Bauer, a 10-year veteran of the ATM industry. Bauer joined Cardtronics with its acquisition of Kahuna ATM Solutions, where he served as the president.

ATM Network — This group, serving independent or single-store merchants, will be managed by Glenn Olson. Olson has nearly 20 years of experience in the ATM industry, leading operations a Merrimak ATM Group prior to its acquisition by Cardtronics. Olson is moving from his current role of vice president, Field Services.

The new teams will have responsibility to and for their customer bases, the press release said.

"One of our main goals as a business unit is to answer any customer question or issue with the first phone call," said Ric Davis, executive vice president of the independent business group at Cardtronics. "We are changing how we are organized to be closer to the customer, more nimble and more focused on helping our customers grow their business. We are reorganizing employees into customer teams that own specific customer portfolios and are empowered to make decisions for the benefit of the customer."
