Cardtronics adds image deposit capability to Tennessee CU's ATMs

The CU bundles a surcharge-free network, retail cash access, branch network management, ATM locator, and now image deposit from the IAD.

Gray, Tennessee-based Appalachian Community Federal Credit Union has launched image deposit capabilities at its branch ATMs, which are managed by Cardtronics Inc. ACFCU members can now deposit checks directly into the ATMs without using an envelope or deposit slip, a press release said.

Cardtronics serves ACFCU with complete outsourced ATM management at all seven of its branch offices in Tennessee, Virginia and Kentucky. Cardtronics installed new machines upon taking over management of the FI's branch ATMs in 2012.

An Allpoint Network member since 2008, the $173.4 million credit union also relies on Cardtronics for retail ATM branding as well as Web and mobile ATM locator services. The credit union's branding appears on 17 Cardtronics-owned and -operated ATMs in CVS/pharmacy stores in ACFCU home markets along the Tennessee-Virginia border.

"On both a national and local scale, Cardtronics offers a compelling portfolio of retailer relationships capable of extending a financial institution's ATM footprint to where members are located," said ACFCU President and CEO Ron Scott.
